Good-Bye Colorado, Hello World!

This time tomorrow night we will be over the Atlantic Ocean; the build up towards this trip has been epic!

Today was a quintessential Colorado summer day and I was lucky enough to be able to coach the SMA field hockey girls one more time for the season.  I am very thankful for all the wonderful send offs from my team, my family and friends.

Looking forward to the adventures to come....

Crunch Time

A block print I made at Wohelo of the World Wandering Wo-Girls

Two days until departure and we are packing things in (both metaphorically and physically). Over the past 5 days I have  booked 9 hostels, 8 hotels, 6 flights, 1 train, 1 junk boat, 1 Cambodian tour and the list goes on... We have research for hours, had countless trips to the store,  and sent thousands of emails.  Our itinerary now is almost 10 pages long and yet it never seems to be fully complete.  Our bags are packed (each less than 30 lbs) with what feels like more pills than cloths, get use to us wearing the same outfit in all the pictures.  This trip has been monopolizing our thoughts and lives for the past few days, and I am so ready to stop researching and start experiencing. But for the next two days I hope to enjoy all the luxurious of being in America in my own bed at home.

“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” – Martin Buber

A week and a half left until departure; anticipation is growing, excitement is building, and last minute planning is getting crammed in. We have an itinerary, over 15 flights booked, people awaiting our arrival and hundreds of dollars invested in this big adventure. We continue to research and try to best prepare for the next three months of constant travel. We have completely designed this whole trip and we have mapped out our destinations. Yet we cannot plan for how trip with change us or what destinations we will come to in our selves... time will tell the true depths of this adventure.
